J. D. Salinger (1919-2010)

Catcher in the Rye
First sentence:
If you really want to hear about it, the first thing
you'll probably want to know is where I was born,
and what my lousy childhood was like,
and how my parents were occupied and all
before they had me, and all that
David Copperfield kind of crap, but I
don't feel like going into it, if you want
to know the truth.

Katerwalling

When you're in that Aiken place,
Closing in on August in Augusta,
With your heart safely stored in Nome,
Can you quit the race, put on your face,
Take a sad rhyme, and just busta
move when there's no place like home?

Midnights

Chasten Doods worked midnights
facin' moods lurked lid fights
racin' foods clerked hid bites
pacin' rudes jerked did rights
hasten broods perked grid flights
Chasten Doods worked midnights

Know

What do you know about the word
h*rs*sh*t?
I personally like it better than
b*llsh*t,
but not as much as
ch*ck*nsh*t.
I don't like the word
k*tt*nsh*t
at all.

A Fun Story

This is the story of a beautiful kitty who has a frightening encounter with an illegal alien from outer space. Afterwards, the kitty goes through a 50 foot growth spurt, then goes out looking for trouble at the Good Star Bar. Instead, she finds an empty dining room and proceeds to rampage around town. It is a fun story.

Dilemna of the Decade

If I was abandoned and rejected,
will I then abandon and reject others?
If I am excluded,
will I exclude others?
If I suffer from another's cruel lies,
will I lie?
If others knock me down & make me sick
with their selfish agendas,
will I do the same?
Is it okay to cheat if
I am right and you are wrong?
Should I therefore
do unto others before they do unto me
or
turn the other cheek
or
forget about it
or
what?

Murder Most Fowl

from Hamlet the Cat in the 16th century:
*
Murder most fowl as in the best it is/
But this most fowl, strange & unnatural
***
If a Cat is a feline in the Felidae family
which includes Domestic Breeds, Lions,
Tigers, Leopards, Lynxes, Jaguars, Cheetahs, etc.,
and if a Log can be a tree limb and/or the cutting of that
limb, or an official record of a voyage, or a record of
geological formations penetrated when well-drilling, or
3 is the log(arithm) of 8 to the base 2, then Cat: a Log
is lots of times not intended to be factual and lots of times
it is. Watch out for the cat.
